Faroes join campaign against Iranian authorities
Victor Bet-Tamraz and his wife Shamiram Issavi have been jailed for ten and five years, respectively, for celebrating Christian traditions such as Christmas.
According to Amnesty International, their only crime was that they practiced their Christian faith, and the organisation is now collecting signatures demanding that Iranian authorities set the couple free.
Two other members of the Tehran Pentecostal Assyrian Church have also been sentenced on the same charges.
The Faroese branch of Amnesty International has now joined the campaign, demanding acquittal and that the Iranian authorities stop persecuting and jailing Christians.
The couple have appealed their sentence and have been released on bail. Click here to add your signature.
