College introduces comprehensive smoking ban
Following in the footsteps of many other schools, the country’s largest educational establishment has now become smoke-free.
“I am delighted that Glasir – a place where 1,500 young people and 250 staff members meet on a daily basis – can now show the way toward a smoke-free future,” says Glasir principal Bogi Bech Jensen.
The smoke ban, which covers the entire school area, was implemented on the first day of the new school year, which was on Thursday.
Principal Jensen says that it is significantly easier to enforce a smoking ban when it covers the entire school area as opposed to having designated smoking areas.
