We know the chain of infection, says chief medical officer Lars Fodgaard Møller

The low number of new corona cases in the past week indicates that the corona situation is under control, according to chief medical officer Lars Fodgaard Møller.

“We believe the situation is under control,” he says. “We are unaware of any undocumented corona cases and we are not seeing any surprising new cases. We can trace the infection routes of all new corona cases.”

The daily number of new corona cases in the past week (from Tuesday to this morning) has been as follows: 2, 4, 4, 1, 2, 0, 2. These figures, published on corona.fo, are subject to daily adjustment due to occasional irregularities in testing.

“The way the figures are going, it would make sense to start considering lifting some of the anti-epidemic restrictions. But we must tread very carefully. It takes at least eight days to see the consequences of opening the lockdown, so any opening measures must be made gradually.”
