Heel shot secures win against Andorra
NSÍ striker Klæmint Andrasson Olsen was the hero of the day after scoring the only goal against Andorra with a cheeky heel shot.
Although the Faroese team did not create as many chances at goal as in last Thursday’s 3-2 win against Malta, commentators agree that today’s victory against Andorra was fully deserved.
The Faroese players took control of the game early on, but they struggled to launch attacks early on.
In the 30th minute, however, Hallur Hansson sent a cross into the penalty area, which Olsen elegantly heeled into the back of the Andorran net.

The second half started slowly, with the Faroes having most of the ball possession and Andorra failing to make any attempts at the Faroese goal.
Midway through the second half, Olsen came close to extending the lead, but his header went just wide.
Meinhard Olsen had the best second-half attempt after clever team play through the Andorran defence, but his shot also went wide.
Andorra piled on the pressure toward the end, but the Faroese team managed to defend their 1-0 lead until the final whistle.
Top of the table
The Faroese team now tops the League D Group 1 table with 6 points, with Latvia in second (1 point), Andorra third (1 point) and Malta at the bottom with 0 points.
Latvia and Malta are scheduled to play later tonight.
