Five new Covid-19 cases
There are now 16 active Covid cases in the country

More than 1,000 Covid tests were conducted yesterday, and five of them came out positive, reports corona.fo.

Four people were infected domestically and have been identified as belonging to the same known chain of infection.

The fifth person is a non-Faroese resident, who tested positive upon arrival at Vágar Airport.

All five have now been quarantined and contact tracing has begun.

Since the outbreak in March, a total of 428 people have tested positive, and 412 have recovered, which means the number of active cases is 16.

Over the past week, the daily number of positive Covid tests has been as follows: 1, 1, 1, 0, 2, 5, 0 and 5.

No-one is currently undergoing hospital treatment for Covid-19.
