Vaccine passports coming soon
People vaccinated against Covid-19 in the Faroes will soon be given a digital vaccination passport.
The verification receipt system is currently being developed by the hospital service and will be available in paper and digital formats.
Once Google has completed its standard vaccine passport for international use, the Faroese passport will also be available on Android smartphones.
Collaboration with Smyril Line
The vaccine passport system is being prepared in collaboration with Smyril Line, which has developed the booking systems used for testing and vaccinations.
Health minister Kaj Leo Holm Johannesen says the Faroese vaccine passport will most likely be equivalent to the one recently introduced in Denmark.
