Covid testing still recommended for travellers

Mandatory Covid testing at the borders will be replaced by a recommendation that all travellers get tested two days prior to arriving in the Faroes, followed by a test two days after arrival.

Travellers are urged to be extra cautious until they receive a negative result on their follow-up test.
Prime Minister Bárður á Steig Nielsen says he is pleased with the new developments and hopes that people will respect the new recommendations.
Vaccine passport awaiting approval
The Faroese digital passport is ready to use, and all that is left is the final approval from the EU.
“Our app, the digital passport itself, is complete. Only the EU knows how long it takes to approve our certificate, says Steinar Eirikstoft, the head of the Hospital Service.

Once the certificate is approved, the app will be available to download for free.
