After years of economic decline, all seven municipalities in Suðuroy had an increase in tax revenue last year

Tvøroyri City Council has compiled tax data from Suðuroy’s seven municipalities, and the results reveal an increase in tax revenue throughout the island. The figures cover the period from January 2018 to January 2019.

Sumba municipality saw an increase of almost 44 percent, while Hov improved by 40 percent. Porkeri and Vágs municipalities had an increase of 19 percent, Tvøroyri 15 percent, Hvalba 7 percent and Fámjin 4 percent.
Suðuroy’s total tax revenue increase over the 2018-2019 period amounted to more than DKK 1.5 million.
