If all goes according to plan, the New York flights will start in March, according to Atlantic CEO Jóhanna á Bergi.

The initial plan was to introduce weekly test flights this month, but there have been more complications associated with securing the required permissions than the company expected.

“We have just returned from New York, and we have been allocated a spot at the Newark Airport, which is a key prerequisite for securing many of the remaining permissions, so we are almost there now,” says Bergi.

The plan is to introduce seven or eight flights this spring and another seven or eight in the autumn, she adds.
