New electrical safety law

New electrical safety law
Lawmakers will soon vote on a bill on electrical installations and equipment

12.01.2020 - 06:50

An electrical safety bill has been submitted to Parliament.

The existing law dates back to 1993. It has remained unchanged since then, and the Electrical Engineering Commission has for some time been calling for an updated law on electrical installations and equipment.

A new law came into force in Denmark in 2016, replacing the old heavy current regulations, which are still in force in the Faroe Islands.

Parliament has also been handed a proposal for a law on authorisation of electrical installation companies.
