DKK 10.3 million has been earmarked for a new water sports centre in Tvøroyri, Suðuroy.

The centre, which will be located ten metres from the shore, will offer activities such as rowing, winter swimming, diving and standup paddleboarding, reports Suðuroy-based news portal sudurras.fo.

Extensive facilities

The centre will be built in three storeys and will include a gym, locker rooms and showers, a conference room and storage facilities for rowing boats, kayaks, paddle boards, diving gear and other equipment.

An outdoor sauna for up to 25 people will be located near the shore.

According to the organisers, construction work will start within a couple of months and the centre is expected to be ready in two years’ time.
