Champions League qualifier cancelled: KÍ wins

Slovan Bratislava, who were due to play KÍ in the first-round Champions League qualifier yesterday in Klaksvík, had to forfeit the match as a 0-3 loss.
This decision was made by UEFA after one of the Slovakian players tested Covid-19 positive ahead of the game, originally scheduled for Wednesday.
In accordance with Faroese Covid-19 regulations, the entire Slovan Bratislava squad was immediately put into quarantine.
Match postponed
A team of substitutes was later flown to the Faroes to fulfil the match, which had been postponed to yesterday. All players tested negative on departure from the Slovakian capital; however, one player tested positive upon arrival in the Faroes.
After lengthy considerations, UEFA called off the match minutes before kick-off at 5pm, eventually declaring KÍ the winners of the first-round Champions League qualifier.
This means that KÍ are through to the second round, which is scheduled to be contested this Wednesday in Switzerland against Young Boys.
