Argir building sites in high demand

Not all the people who expressed interest in the 45 Klingurstjørn building sites in Argir were included in Tórshavn City Council’s draw yesterday.

More than 200 people registered for the draw, but in the end only 127 people were included in the draw for the sites.

Some were left out of the draw because their application did not include proof of financial means, and some failed to meet other requirements for taking part in the draw.

Two external lawyers were present to ensure that everything went according to the legal requirements.

In August, Tórshavn City Council signed a contract with construction firm Articon to prepare the Klingurstjørn sites.

The construction work is scheduled for completion on 1 August 2019.

This is the third time that the City Council is parcelling out building sites under the new application system.
