New tourism course in Vestmanna

An academy profession programme in tourism is being prepared for next summer at the Miðnám school in Vestmanna.

As no such programme is available in Denmark, the organisers have looked at an Icelandic model in their work to create the new programme.

All academy profession programmes in the Faroes require approval from Danish authorities. This means that the programmes are essentially Danish, and all graduates are guaranteed admission to further study in the Danish educational system.

The Ministry of Culture is currently working on securing approval for the new tourism programme, and if all goes according to plan, the course will be offered next summer.
