Faroese chess champ in world’s top 75

In rapid chess, players are given less time for their moves than normal tournament time controls allow.

FIDE divides its ‘top players’ rankings into three categories: Standard (60 minutes), rapid (10-60 minutes) and blitz (less than 10 minutes).

All three ranking lists are headed by current world champion Magnus Carlsen, who is the only Nordic player higher on the rapid chess list than Faroese grandmaster Helgi Dam Ziska, who is ranked 75th.
