Landsverk “unfit for major building projects”

Road and tunnel authority Landsverk will not be overseeing any major building projects in the future.
This was the clear message from transport minister Heðin Mortensen in Parliament yesterday.
“We need to change the structure of Landsverk, and with the upcoming appointment of the new Landsverk CEO, we must review the entire organisation,” he said.

“Landsverk is simply not suitable for overseeing large construction projects, as we have seen with the Glasir scandal, the new building at the National Hospital and other recent projects.”
The minister added that until Landsverk has the capacity to undertake large building projects, it is best to use private contractors for comprehensive planning and building work.
