Last-second equaliser against Lithuania

The Faroese Women’s national team.
Yesterday’s second international friendly match against Lithuania ended in another draw, this time with a 1-1 final score, following Sunday’s 2-2 draw.
The Lithuanians opened the score in the 72th minute, and things were looking bleak for the Faroese team. But in injury time, Birita Bergsdóttir Nielsen scored after a corner kick. Immediately after approving the goal, the referee blew the final whistle.
The friendlies are part of the Faroese team’s preparations for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2012 qualifiers in which the Faroes are grouped with Norway, Wales, Belarus and Northern Ireland.
The first qualifying match will be played away against Wales on 29 August.
Heidi Sevdal scored both of the Faroese goals in Sunday’s 2-2 game.
