Social worker study programme approved
Parliament yesterday approved the assistant social worker course, which is scheduled to start this autumn

All 29 MPs present in the house yesterday voted in favour of the new assistant social worker study programme.
There was also overwhelming support for lowering the originally planned entry requirements for the course from two years’ relevant work experience to one.
The objective of lowering the entry requirements was to make it easier for unskilled assistant workers and others to develop their skills and receive a diploma in pedagogics.
‘Námsjálparaútbúgvingin’, as the course is called in Faroese, will be taught at the Public Health School in Hov, Suðuroy.
