Medal shower for Faroese indoor rowers

Sverri Sandberg Nielsen once again stamped his authority on Danish indoor rowing at this weekend’s Danish national championships as he defended his title as Danish champion.

He is now considered as one of the favourites to win at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer.

Nielsen was, however, not the only Faroese rower to impress at the Danish championships.

Younger Faroese rowers amassed no less than six gold medals, four silver and two bronze medals at the same championships.

The gold medal winners were Nóa Rúnason, Bára Wang Olsen, Bergur Robert Dam Jensen and Sarita Kristina Hansen.

Silver medal winners were Elisabet A. Sigurðsson, Niels Juul A. Poulsen, Magnus P. Midjord and Sarita Kristina Hansen.

The two bronze medal winners were Elisabet A. Sigurðsson and Magnus P. Midjord.
