Last weekend was unusually busy for the police, with arson attacks, stolen cars and assault cases.
All these cases are related to the illegal drugs environment, according to police chief Michael Boolsen.

“In general, crime in the Faroes has become more complex in recent years, and this is generating an increasing drain on police resources,” he says.
“But despite a recent increase in drug-related crime, we haven’t yet reached a point at which it would be right to talk about organised crime in the Faroe Islands.”
