KvF’s resident photographer, Bjarni Árting Rubeksen, took to the streets of Tórshavn yesterday to capture the Yuletide spirit

Softly falling snow provided a picture-perfect background for yesterday’s lighting of the big Christmas tree in the city centre.
Tórshavn’s brass band set the scene by playing a few Christmas tunes, followed by speeches by mayor Heðin Mortensen and vicar Anne Mette Greve Klementsen.
The Christmas tree in the city centre is one of a total of 12 Christmas trees which will be lit across the capital region in the coming days.
