The beauty of transcultural friendship

"Ein annar veruleiki" (”A different reality”), a new documentary produced by KvF’s youth team Biit, will premiere tonight on KvF’s TV channel.
The film follows two besties, Angel Nashami and Anna Joensen-Næs, on their trip to Kenya.

Having lived in the Faroes for eight years, Angel returns to her home country to visit friends and family, and she has brought along her best friend Anna.
Through interviews, we learn about who Angel was before she moved to the Faroes.

We learn about the differences between Faroese and Kenyan cultures.
How does it feel to introduce your bestie to your distant home country and share a part of your identity that she has never seen before?

The documentary offers a glimpse into how young people from both cultures live and learn together.
Angel's story is a reminder of the challenges that immigrants and people of colour face when they move to a new country.
Angel often had to suppress her feelings of alienation and isolation in order to fit in.
