The finance ministry’s threat of imposing fines on City Councillors in Vágur for “neglecting their legal obligations” is still on the table.

The councillors are accused of not including the Marghøllin multisports hall in the city budget, which the finance ministry argues they are legally required to do.

Since the finance ministry is still processing Vágur municipality’s 2019 budget, the threat of fines is still present.

The fines are personal, meaning that the City Council is not required to pay them.
