Changes to driver’s licence rules

Changes to driver’s licence rules
Upcoming amendment will make it easier for elderly people to renew their driver’s licence

19.09.2018 - 14:31

Regulation changes regarding driver’s licences will increase the age for mandatory driver’s licence renewal from 70 to 75 years.

With the current regulations, drivers must renew their licence when they turn 70 and then again when they turn 74.

The new system requires a renewal with a medical certificate at the age of 75. This will be valid for five years, after which time the licence must be renewed every two years.
