The Faroese team exceeded expectations in yesterday’s Euro 2020 qualifier game against Montenegro.

The end result was 24-24, with the Faroes leading 15-10 at half time.

It took until the 47th minute for the Montenegro side to take the lead, at 19-18.

With only four minutes to go, Montenegro had a three-goal lead at 24-21, but the Faroese team continued to play with all guns blazing.

Montenegro led 24-23 with only a few seconds before the final whistle. Faroese keeper Niklas Simonsen made a brilliant save, and a quick counter-attack sealed the final score at 24-24.

The next Euro 2020 qualifier is against Denmark on Saturday. The game will be played in Denmark, although it is a home game for the Faroese team. The reason for this is that the Faroese sports halls do not meet international requirements.

The Faroes-Denmark game will be broadcast live on KVF TV on Saturday at 2:55pm.
