Work finally starts on new police station

Work has begun to convert the old BankNordik building on Húsagøta, Tórshavn, into a police station.
Firstly, the building will be emptied of everything except the concrete foundation. Then the rebuilding, including the construction of an additional floor, will begin.
The project is expected to be completed in summer 2020, according to project leader Per Bjørnskov.
The building cost DKK 42 million to buy, and the reconstruction will cost almost DKK 100 million.
Funding comes from the Danish Parliament.
The Danish Building and Property Agency owns the building and will rent it out to the police once completed.
