Woman caught red-handed setting house on fire
When police arrived at the scene to investigate a house fire in Hoyvík, Tórshavn yesterday afternoon, they caught a you woman in the act.
She immediately admitted that she had started the fire in the loft of the house.
It soon emerged that the house belongs to the woman’s family. The woman and a young man were present in the house when the loft caught fire and rapidly spread to the rest of the house.
Initial interrogation completed
Police say they have completed their interrogation of the woman. Next up is a mental status examination of the woman to determine whether she is eligible for sentencing.
Neighbours and other relevant parties will also be interviewed. Although the fire brigade did a quick job of putting out the fire, the house was badly damaged.
