Faroes to head Nordic green energy project

Faroese authorities will be at the helm of a major Nordic green energy project, it was revealed after yesterday’s annual Danish Realm Meeting, held in Greenland.

The project, currently headed by the Danish presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, is called ”Fra vision til virkelighed – fremtidige energiløsninger for ø-samfund” (From vision to reality – future energy solutions for island communities).

At yesterday’s meeting, Prime Minister Aksel V. Johannesen and his Danish counterpart, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, agreed that the Faroe Islands will take over responsibility for the project.
