Designers nominated for prestigious green award

The Danish edition of fashion magazine Elle has nominated Guðrun & Guðrun for its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award.
“This is a great honour,” says Guðrun Rógvadóttir, who owns and manages the company together with fellow designer Guðrun Ludvig.
Guðrun & Guðrun rose to international fame after Sarah Lund, the main character in the Danish TV crime series ‘Forbrydelsen’ (‘The Killing’), wore their now iconic knitted sweater in virtually every episode of the show.
Environmentally friendly since day one
“Ever since we started in 2002 – long before it became ‘trendy’ to do so – we have focused on sustainable production by using Faroese wool, sheepskin and other natural raw materials,” says Rógvadóttir.
“And it didn’t take long before we began using our products to promote women’s projects in poor countries such as Jordan, so the Corporate Social Responsibility spirit has always been a key factor in our work.”
The winner of the CSR award will be announced on 10 May at the Elle Style Awards in Denmark.
