Parental leave extended

Parliament has passed a bill to extend the parental leave from 46 to 48 weeks after yesterday’s third reading.

The bill proposed that both parents should be allowed to decide between themselves how to make use of the two extra weeks.

In the end it was decided that one of the two extra weeks should be earmarked for the father, while the other should be left for the two parents to decide on.
