Faroe Marine Products back in business
The fish processing plant in Leirvík is back on its feet after a lengthy downturn in production

20.05.2019 - 13:55

After years of low production, which forced the plant to shut down for a short period, Faroe Marine Products is now running on all cylinders again.

The company’s main market, Nigeria, was hit hard when oil prices went down a few years ago. As a result, the company could not sell its dried fish heads to Nigeria.

The situation in Nigeria has improved significantly, and the country is now buying large quantities of fish heads from the Leirvík-based company. This upturn is also reflected in the company’s accounts as last year’s accounts showed profits of DKK 2 million.
