Faroes fifth in Island Games medal table

The 28th bi-annual International Island Games kicked off in Gibraltar on Saturday.

After the second day, the Faroese artists have won a total of 18 medals – seven gold, two silver and nine bronze medals.

The swimmers have made the biggest medal haul, with four golds, one silver and three bronze medals, plus two new record times.

Faroese judo athletes have also done will, with one gold, one silver and four bronze medals.

The team event in badminton resulted in a bronze for the Faroese players, and another bronze medal came in the 10,000-metre running event for women.
