KÍ are the champions

With a 3-0 win over B36, KÍ yesterday secured their first Premier League title since 1999.

An estimated 5,000 fans had made their way to Gundadalur in Tórshavn to watch the game, and an hour before match start, the stadium was packed.

It became clear early on who was the stronger team on the day, as KÍ had secured a 2-0 lead after only eight minutes.

A third KÍ goal in the second half sealed the win and the club’s 18th Premier League title.

KÍ’s goal scorers were Páll Andrasson Klettskarð (6th minute), Semir Hadzibulic (8th minute) and Jóannes Bjartalíð (80th minute).
