Lene Bjerning Terp is the new manager of the Faroese women’s national football team, the Faroese Football Association announced at a press conference today.

Terp was a professional footballer from 1989 to 2003, representing clubs such as Kolding and OB in Denmark and Fulham in England.

She was part of the Danish women’s national team from 1993 to 2003 and took part in the European and world Championships as well as the Olympic games. She was team captain for five years.

Experienced coach

After her career as a player, she took up coaching, first as assistant manager of the Danish women’s U19 national team (2011-2013), and then as manager of Denmark’s KoldingQ (2013-2016).

This was followed by a role as assistant manager of the Danish women’s national team, which finished as runners-up at EURO 2017.
