Akstovan, the Faroese Vehicle Administration, today handed the police 527 cases of road tax arrears.
The police will now seek to remove the number plates from the cars in question.
Road taxes are to be paid in advance twice a year, and the 527 unpaid road tax bills are for the first half of this year, due for payment by 1 January 2021.
If you have received two reminders regarding late payment of your road taxes and you cannot show a payment receipt, you can expect to see your car’s number plates disappear shortly.
