Klaksvík’s Skúlatrøð school reopens

The Skúlatrøð school in Klaksvík has reopened after being partially closed for three weeks.

A total of 170 pupils of the school’s pupils have tested Covid positive in the past few weeks.

Most of them have now recovered, says principal Vagn Foldbo.

Sixty-two new Covid cases

Saturday’s testing round resulted in 35 new cases, and 27 were registered yesterday, reports corona.fo.

All have been notified by the health authorities, and extensive contact tracing is underway.

There are currently 474 active Covid-19 cases in the country. Five people are being receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and a total of ten Covid-related deaths have been registered since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 64, 47, 48, 48, 29, 35 and 27.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 91.1 percent of the 12+ population have received the first shot of the vaccine, 86.1 percent have received the second shot and 7.8 percent have received a third booster shot.
