Russian ships banned from Faroese ports
The ban does not cover Russian fishing vessels

Russian-affiliated ships will from tomorrow be banned from docking in Faroese ports.

Russian fishing vessels are, however, exempted from the ban, according to the government’s executive order on sanctions against Russia, issued on 24 June.

Also exempted are Russian-affiliated vessels requesting to enter Faroese ports due to force majeure.

Russian ships that have changed flag after 24 February 2022 are included in the ban.

The Faroese foreign minister is authorised to grant dispensations to Russian-linked vessels that carry e.g. fuel, medicine or food.
