Representation offices in Greenland and the US

The government is planning to open two new Faroese representation offices, one in Greenland and one in the United States.
“It’s about time that we work towards direct trade relations with Greenland instead of going through Denmark,” says foreign minister Høgni Hoydal.
“Iceland recently opened an office in Greenland, and the results look good. So, we believe the time is right to open a Faroese representation office in Greenland.”

Halla Nolsøe Poulsen, the current head of the Representation of the Faroes in Iceland, will provisionally be heading both the Iceland and the Greenland offices.
The government is also planning to open a Faroese representation office in Washington D.C.
Hoydal did not provide a timeline but said that both offices would be up and running by the next general election.
