Faroes stand with Ukraine on anniversary

Today marks the first anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Iconic landmarks across the world such as the Eiffel Tower, the Europen Union buildings and the Sydney Opera House are lit up in yellow and blue today fito commemorate the anniversary.
The yellow and blue theme can also be seen in the Faroes today.

The Ukrainian flag has been raised outside Tórshavn’s City Hall and the government buildings, and yellow and blue lights will be turned on elsewhere in the capital this afternoon.
Prime Minister Aksel V. Johannesen today published a feature, titled ‘Faroese hearts are crying with Ukraine’, in which he condemns Russia’s aggression.
He writes that the government is analysing all aspects of Faroese-Russian relations and that a decision on these relations will be made soon.
