All pandemic-related travel restrictions are long gone, and most of us are aching to fly abroad for the summer.
And with another record tourist season expected this year, things should be looking great for Faroese flag carrier Atlantic Airways.

However, a longstanding issue within the airline has yet again raised its head: the pilots demand better working conditions. And now it looks like this conflict may result in industrial action.
Arbeiðsgevarafelagið (the Employers’ Union) yesterday announced a work stoppage for Atlantic Airways pilots scheduled to start on 12 May.
This comes after talks between the union and the Faroese Airline Pilots’ Association regarding flexible work hours for pilots broke down.

If the work stoppage goes ahead, it will only apply to Atlantic pilots based in the Faroes.
Transport of patients will be exempted from any work stoppage.
According to the Employers’ Union, if a solution is to be found by 12 May, it is up to the pilots’ association to submit a proposal.
We will keep an eye on the situation. For the latest updates, visit atlantic.fo.
