Half of all electricity comes from renewable sources
Electricity consumption went up by 7 percent and sustainable energy production increased 20 percent, compared to the first half of last year

Green energy production made up 50 percent of the country’s total electricity production in the first half of this year, reports national energy supplier SEV.
Wind energy provided 26 percent, which is twice as much as in the first half of last year, going from 28.6 gigawatt hours (GWh) to 57.6 GWh.
Hydroelectric power accounted for 23 percent of the total, which is slightly less than last year.
