Faroes to adopt EU drone laws

The existing drone regulations are outdated and confusing for tourists, according to the government.

A simple and effective solution is to adopt EU regulations on drone operations. However, the plan is to adapt these regulations to Faroese conditions.

The government says the regulation changes will help to avoid problems that often arise when tourists operate drones because Faroese drone regulations are different from those in other countries.

The planned changes will include regulations about operating a drone while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and how drone operating licences are withdrawn.
