Five more years with free online dictionaries

The public will have free access to the dictionaries on sprotin.fo for another five years.

This was announced yesterday, when the Ministry of Culture, local councils and dictionary publisher Sprotin extended their deal by another five years.

In addition to ongoing dictionary revisions, the work on Japanese, Portuguese and Greenlandic dictionary projects will be completed.

The government has acquired the option to purchase the dictionary portfolio in case Sprotin goes out of business, plans to transfer its rights or changes ownership.
