Man dies in work accident

The police were called yesterday afternoon following reports of a serious work accident at Varðin Pelagic in Tvøroyri. A 56-year-old man had died after being run over by a forklift.

Officials from the Working Environment Service are currently investigating the accident.

Leivur Persson, the head of the Faroese Working Environment Service, says it is unclear what happened. But there is a lot of activity at Varðin Pelagic, so it is likely that eyewitness accounts will be available soon.
