Men earn one third more than women
Men earn just over DKK 10,000 more on average per month than women

The latest salary figures from April show that men earn, on average, just over DKK 10,000 per month than women.

In April this year, the Faroese workforce consisted of 14,250 men and 13,150 women.

Men were paid DKK 510 million in April, compared to DKK 335 for women.

This brings the average monthly salary for men to DKK 35,790 and DKK 25,475 for women.

Gender pay gap is growing

In June this year, men were paid DKK 520m and women 320m.

The gender pay gap has been on a steady rise over the past five years, according to Statistics Faroe Islands.

Today’s gap is 200 million, compared to 140 million in 2014.

The complete earned income figures for June will not be available until September.
