Bob Geldof became a household name in 1985 when he cofounded the Live Aid charity event to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia.

But on 27 September, he will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Day of Industry in Tórshavn’s Nordic House.

Sir Bob Geldof rose to fame in the ‘70s and ‘80s as the singer of the Boomtown Rats, who shot to number one in the UK top 40 singles chart with the songs "I Don't Like Mondays" and "Rat Trap".

The Boomtown Rats split up in 1986 but reunited in 2013 and are still an active band.

At the Day of Industry, he will be giving a lecture themed “Making a Difference” in which he will be covering topics such as ethical accountability, the United Nations’ long-term goals and the need for international cooperation to reach these goals.
