Unpaid bills dispute heating up

Landsverk, which oversaw the construction of Glasir, is refusing to pay 150 bills for construction work which the company claims is “of inadequate quality”.

Some of these bills are 18 months overdue.

Responding to the criticism, Føroya Handverksmeistarafelag, the union representing the builders, is now calling for a surveyor to settle the dispute.

”There are clear procedures in disputes such as this one, and the only right way to solve the issue would be to appoint an independent surveyor to assess the work,” says Marius Thomassen, a consultant at Føroya Hansverksmeistarafelag.
