High court date set for submarine case

The appeal case against Peter Madsen, 47, who has been handed a life sentence for the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall, will start on 5 September.

Madsen has only appealed against the life sentence, and not the verdicts of murder, sexual assault and dismembering of the 30-year-old woman. He does, however, still deny the murder charge.

The Eastern High Court in Copenhagen will hear the appeal on 5, 12 and 14 September.

On 25 April, the Copenhagen City Court ruled unanimously that Madsen lured 30-year-old Wall into his home-made submarine with the intention of killing her.
