When Issehoved, currently covering the Nólsoy-Tórshavn route, landed in Tórshavn last night, police officers boarded the catamaran for inspection, reports vp.fo.
It turned out that the ferry was carrying 114 passengers, which is 16 more than its maximum capacity of 98.
A passenger had reported feeling unsafe on board the vessel due to overcrowding.
After interviewing the crew and passengers, the police charged the captain with exceeding the legal capacity.
