The Danish government has decided that DR should cut 20 percent of its budget over the next five years.

This means annual savings of DKK 420 million for the national broadcaster.

With the new budget cut, several TV and radio channels will be scrapped, and others will be merged.

Three radio channels, P6, P7 and P8, will be shut down, while many of DR’s TV channels will be merged. DR 3 and DR Ultra will only be available online.

The corporation’s administration and the DR Media department are expected to suffer most from the budget cuts, while the DR News will see less significant changes.
